Big Girl Bed

It is official! Hannah is not a baby anymore (I know she hasn't been for a long time, but it became real on Saturday when we purchased a big girl bed for her)! She was so excited and wanted a princess bed. I convinced her that the sheets with princesses on it was just as good. I was nervous about how she would sleep, but she did great. She has selpt great each night. She wakes up in the morning and comes running into our room saying, "cock-a-doodle-doooooo" "it is morning time"! Naps are a different story. She will not sleep during nap-time, but I still make her stay in her room and play for two hours. I need that break. I am hoping once the novelty of not being in a crib wears off she will sleep better, but I'm not holding my breath. She is pretty cute in that big bed.

Happy Belated Easter!

Warning this is a long one (and may be boring to some)!
Happy belated Easter everyone! I hope your weekend was as fun as ours. Easter was so fun this year, because Hannah actually understood what was going on. It was a full weekend! Friday night started our Easter celebrations; Hannah recieved a package from Grandma Wade containing a stuffed duck (which Hannah instantly named Allen) and some candy. She insisted on taking the duck everyone the whole weekend (which meant I carried it all weekend!).

On Saturday morning Hannah woke up and we gave her the little presents from Chad and I (side walk egg-shaped chalk, a bubble blower, and a bunny water bottle).
Then we went to the city egg hunt of dyed hard-boiled eggs. The eggs were not a big hit and it kind of grossed me out, so we threw them away without tasting them.

We went home and played outside with the bubbles and the sidewalk chalk.

I spoke with the Easter Bunny and he informed me that he would be coming during Hannah's nap, so when she woke up we started the hunt. The eggs, filled with candy, stickers, and ink stamps, were hidden all outside of our apartment.

Once they were all collected we went inside to, as Hannah says, "crack the eggs" and see what was inside. She would tap each egg on the ground like she was trying to crack it like a real egg. It was so funny. She was so excited and would make the funnest face (seen below) each time we opened an egg.

We then headed over to the mall to get a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Hannah kept telling me that the Easter Bunny was nice and that she wasn't going to be afraid. Which made me worried that once we got there she would think that Easter Bunny wasn't nice and would be afraid, but she was just fine. We got a really cute picture of her.

Sorry about the sideways picture!

Sunday Hannah was able to wear her pretty Easter dress. She looked so cute and grown up. It kills me how big she has gotten. She's not my little baby anymore. She looked so beautiful and couldn't stop twirling around.

Sorry about the sideways picture!

Sorry this is such a long post, but it was a busy and great weekend for us. I have decided that next year I am going to find more ways to teach Hannah about the real reason we celebrate Easter. I need to do that better with all holidays. Anyways, I hope you all had a Happy Easter!

Ask and Ye Shall Recieve...

You wanted a video, you got it! Here is a video of Hannah saying Horton Whose a Who and being just plain adorable!

Don't expect too many videos, though. My computer is too slow. It took a really long time to upload it!

Mom Always Said Don't Play Wtih Your Food

Today we threw that saying out the window. Mandy was nice enough to invite us over to play with some edible playdough. The kids really had fun. Hannah kept taking bites off her huge ball of dough as she was playing. After they had played we smooshed some dough in between two pieces of bread and served them as sandwhiches (for the kids ---not us). Don't worry we threw in some apple slices too. That's a healthy lunch, right!?!?

Flowers and Felonies

Today Chad and Hannah did a project of planting flowers. They are just seeds and Hannah was very upset that they were not growing right then and there. I blame children's television shows. There was one show that Hannah watches called, Go, Baby! On this show they plant a seed and "patiently" wait while the flower grows in seconds. This has given Hannah an unrealistic understanding of the growing process. Maybe I should blame myself for letting her learn about the growing process from television......nah! I'll blame t.v.! We will keep you posted on the actual growing process.
And now for the felonies----Today Hannah and I were out in the garage. She found a wrapper in her pocket and gave it to me. During the hand-off it fell on the ground. We were late for work so I just told her that we would get it later. She said, "But mom! I don't want to get a-rough-ted! I will get a-rough-ted today!" I asked her what a-rough-ted meant and why she was going to get a-rough-ed (figured it out yet?!?!) She then told me that if you throw trash on the ground you will get a-rough-ted. I finally got it. She thought that she would get "arrested." I have no idea where she got that! She comes up with the craziest things! Is littering a felony? I'm not sure, but it sounded good with flowers.

Dye Egg, Dye!

Here's the cool collage! At least I think it cool!

Dye Egg, Dye!

See previous blog for cool collage about this day. Sorry still trying to figure everything out!
Last night for F.H.E. we dyed eggs for Easter. Hannah was mostly interested in the stickers and covered one egg with two whole sheets of them, artist Chad spent most of his time on one egg (which was time well spent, it was very cool), and I created the most eggs (although not the most creative). It felt weird decorating eggs on St. Patrick's Day. It is so close to Easter this year, it is almost as if St. Paddy's Day is being skipped over. Although, I don't really like St. Patrick's Day, so I'm not too disappointed. These are my feelings about March 17th: I don't really like the color green, you don't get candy, you don't get off of school or work, and people pinch you. Since I don't drink and I'm not Irish, it is definitely on the bottom of my list of holidays. Okay enough of my anti- St. Patrick's Day feelings! We had a family from our ward come over and decorate the eggs with us. We all had a fun time and the kids were all sad when it was time to go home.

An Elephant Never Forgets

Apparently neither does a Hannah. When I first saw the previews for Dr. Suess' Horton Hears a Who, I made the major mistake of telling Hannah that we would have to see it in the theatre. So for the next few weeks everyday Hannah would ask me, "Are we going to see Horton Whose a Who today? Well, on Saturday I could finally say yes. She was so excited! It was a cute movie and we all enjoyed it.

Which Came First...The Candy or the Egg?

Hannah and her basket

On Wednesday we went to the C.S.I. annual Easter Egg Dash. Hannah was so excited to carry her basket and get the candy. I say candy, not eggs. She felt that the eggs were just an unneccesary roadblock on the way to getting candy. She would have been just as happy (if not more so) if there was just candy strewn all over the lawn.

Checking out the loot!

Anything with chocolate was "The good stuff." A girl after her mom's heart.

She even got to meet the Easter Bunny. She was fine shaking his hand, but when it came time to get a picture with him, she needed me for support.

To Blog or not to Blog...

So this is it. I have finally done it. I broke down and have started a blog. At first I was against it thinking that only teenagers and celebrities had blogs, but thanks to my sister I have realized the new craze that is, The Blog. Anyways, I was thinking about it and I don't journal and I don't scrapbook, so this is a great was to share with the world (or at least the 5 people that will read my blog) my cute and adorable little Hannah. I am also hoping that this will help me to remember my camera and get me to actually do things that I will from here on out refer to as "blog-worthy"!
