Chicken, Airplane, Soldier

Hannah's "sunglasses that you wear under the water so you can be a mermaid." Attractive!

Hannah took swim lessons at the local pool this summer. We actually took her swimming a few times before her lessons, which I really think helped. The first day we took her she clung to me the whole time like a little monkey. After a few days she was walking around and playing. The first day of lessons she was a little hesitant, but once she met the girls in her class and her teacher she loved it! Although I don't think she is quite ready for the Olympics, she has improved so much!

Below is a video of Hannah's backstroke. Impressive, no?!?

I Can't Believe it Actually Worked!

So Chad decided a while ago that he was going to plant some green bean seeds in a little planter box. I was skeptical to say the least, but Chad was determined. He and Hannah watered them every day and pretty soon we had little green shoots. Well the shoots then grew into a huge bush, but no beans. Chad and Hannah kept at it and didn't give up. We went out of town for the weekend and were afraid they would be dead when we returned home. They were definitely sagging, but upon closer examination--We found beans! Big ones, in fact. Hannah and Chad were able to pick them and we were about to eat the fruits of Chad's labor! They were really good too! Needless to say I am very impressed! Who knew?!?

I Hate to Admit It, but it is True!

You Are Aurora! (A.K.A. Sleeping Beauty.)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Thoughtful and loving. Authority figures probably have been sheltering you all of your life. Thankfully you're a very tranquil person who is content with what life has given you, but secretly you want to know how the outside world works.

This was on my sister's blog and I was curious so I thought I would give it a try. I think that it is so true it is kinda scary!

4 Buddies and a Bride

This weekend we made yet another trip to Rexburg. This time it was for my BFF(do people still say that?) Ashley Freeman's bridal shower. We have been friends since 2nd grade. She is such a great girl. I am so happy for her. I can tell she is happy and that her fiance, Sione, loves her (just by looking at pictures of them together). I haven't met him yet, but he seems like a great guy!
It was a fun shower and it was really fun to see some of my friends that I haven't seen in a long time.

These are my cute friends Amanda and Kayla. They are my friends from high school. It was so fun to talk to them and see what they are doing. Please ignore the unflattering double chin on me. I was holding the camera and was at a bad angle (either that or I am just fat)! Here is a picture of Ashley, me, and my roommate (who was also Ashley's roommate after I got married) Britney.I love this picture. Isn't Ashley pretty!?!? I am so excited to attend her wedding and to met Sione! He and his family are Tongan so they have some pretty cool things planned for the wedding! It is going to be great. Don't worry I will post about that too!

Congratulations Ashley! I love you!

Art in the Park

On Saturday we attended Art in the Park. It was so much fun. I enjoyed watching Hannah be creative. Hannah painted with different tools, drew a fish, and made a "stained-glass window." It was a fun morning, even though she got paint on her shirt in the first 2 minutes!

The "stained-glass" was really cool. She took the little colored papers and put it on contact paper. It was really cute! We can't wait until next year!

An Update on my Handsome Husband Chad

I thought I would give you all an update on what Chad has been doing.

Last night was his last night at work at Lowe's Home Improvement. He has worked there for two years. He was just getting overwhelmed with working so much and getting so little sleep. I was also getting overwhelmed with only seeing him for one hour every day.
He is currently doing clinical work at Cassia County Hospital. He is loving it! He comes home everyday telling me about the cool (and in my opinion, gross) things that he sees each day. He says that the cool thing about it is that it is different everyday and you never now what to expect.

Doesn't he look handsome in his scrubs? All of the Rad. Tech. Students wear black.

The object on the top is called T.L.D. and it measures the amount of radiation he has absorbed. It is monitored every three months and they have very strict guidelines about the amount of radiation exposure. It keeps them safe, and makes me feel better!

On the bottom is his name badge. Official looking, huh!??!
Here is a picture of Chad and his friend, Brian, in the "Bunny Suit." This is what they have to wear when they work in the O.R.
He really loves working in the hospital and with the people he is working with. He loves it so much that he has applied for a Student Tech job there. He has a really good feeling about it and it sounds like he will get the job. It would be great pay, fewer hours than Lowe's, and GREAT experience. We will let you know!

Well that is what Chad is up to. He is a great dad and husband. We love him!

Signs of Summer

As I got out of the car last night, I heard a faint tinkling noise. It instantly brought me back to when I was a little girl, probably around Hannah's age, being at Grandma Ricks' house and hearing that same tinkling! I knew instantly that it was THE ICE CREAM TRUCK. I ran in the house and told Chad and Hannah to come and listen. I was so excited for Hannah to experince an ice cream truck for the first time! I got out some money and we waited outside on the step. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. I started to worry that it wasn't going to come down our road, but finally we saw the top of the truck creep slowly around the corner.
I forgot how slow they drive and how loud they play the music, hence the reason we could hear the music while the truck was still blocks away! Anyways, it was really fun to experience this with Hannah, although I do think that the prices have increased quite a bit since I was had ice cream from a truck!

Is anyone surprised that she picked the pink one?!?!

This is a long video and it took FOREVER to load!

A Weekend of Celebration

This was a weekend of celebration. We headed to Rexburg to celebrate the 4th of July.

She said, "Happy 4th of July"
We went to the parade and thanks to my sister-in-law's mom we had an awesome location! Thanks, JoAnne! I think it was the most enjoyable parade I have ever attended. We had a great seat, we were in the shade, and it wasn't blasted hot!
Hannah, of course, loved the music. She was dancing up a storm.

Later that night, after the boys went golfing, we watched, WALL-E. It was a very cute movie. After it was over, we went straight to the fairgrounds, parked, put out our blankets, and then the fireworks started. It was perfect timing! It was a really fun day of red, white, and blue.

We also celebrated the birth of Travis and Melissa's baby boy. My fourth nephew! He is so cute and soft and little! They were debating about the name, but I think they settled on Dawson Travis. Congratulations guys! He is a cutie!
