Jack-o-Luncheon

Lately I have been trying to be more creative with Hannah's lunches. A while ago Hannah's cousin, Kate, came over to play and I made their sandwhiches a little extra special.

This is how the girls felt about them.

I think it was a hit!

At the Dentist

Last week Hannah had a check-up with the dentist (a.k.a. Uncle Adam). She did really good and her teeth look great!
The "cool" glasses

Showing off her nice clean teeth.
Thanks Adam! We will be sad when we move away from our favorite dentist!

Hannah's First Field Trip

Hannah's preschool had their first field trip last week. They went to a pumpkin patch and Hannah talked about it all week. She was the most excited about this...
Her first bus ride.
I was able to meet them over at the pumpkin patch to help out. It was fun to see her interacting with the other kids and her teachers.

This was Hannah's favorite activity of the day. She has pretty good balance. Maybe she has a future as a tightrope walker. Remember this post? Her dream may come true!

Hannah loved her first field trip and came home with a pumpkin...

and a pants full of hay!

Five Little Pumpkins

I learned this when I was little and taught it to Hannah. It is one of my favorites. Please excuse her morning hair.

Dollmination PJs!

The other night Hannah told me she wanted to wear her "Dollminations pjs." I told her that she didn't own Dalmation pjs. After going back and forth for a while I told her to go and find them and put them on. This is what she came out with....why didn't I think of those!?

Football Frenzy!

A few weekends ago we went to Provo for a BYU football game. We had tons of fun hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. We did a little shopping, ate Krispie Kremes, and of course, watched some football. We look forward to this trip every year. Thanks grandma and grandpa for making it possible, and thanks also to Emily and Ben for watching Hannah during the game!

A Spook-tacular Boo-thday Party

A couple weekends ago. My sister-in-law Cortney threw a really fun joint birthday for her little boy Zac, my nephew Skylar, and my niece Haley. She puts tons of work into it! All of the kids dressed up in their halloween costumes and Cortney took pictures of them.
Hannah is a unicorn. I must brag a bit--I made her costume! Sorry about the sideways picture!

She even had fun games for them to play! This is pin the pieces on the pumpkin!

Grandma Hurd has a new baby kitten that Hannah loves! It is a cute kitten named Pumpkin and Hannah likes to carry it around the whole house!

Patch it up, Pumpkin Style

What could be better than a hayride and picking your own pumpkins! It was an enjoyable little hayride to a field full of pumpkins ripe for the picking. We each found our favorite pumpkins. Hannah liked the little ones. I liked the round one and Chad liked the big one!

A Corny Family Home Evening

For Family Home Evening we went to a local corn maze.

We allowed Hannah to be the leader and just followed her aroung for a while. She lead us around several circles and kept saying "We are not lost, I am the leader! We are on a good path!"

Once we decided we were ready to go Chad and I took over, after walking around for a long time looking for the exit we realized the entrance is the same as the exit! Tricky!

This is how Hannah rolled the last half hour. She is saying "Corn field!"

And there is only one thing to do after a corn maze........

Eat doughnuts

and drink hot chocolate!

I'll Tumble For Ya

Hannah is in a tumbling class once a week. It is very good for her. She is eager to learn, but not the most coordinated! The first class she said, "I can't do it!" a lot, she is getting better each time. I have a really fun time watching her and trying not to laugh too loud!

This is a video of her crab walk the second week. She causes a little traffic jam. She is much faster now. I will have to show another video of how much she has improved.

A Good Idea---in Theory

The other day on a kid's cartoon show Hannah and I saw something interesting. The characters on the show were making frozen juice pops. The thing that caught my attention was when they shared this idea--put a banana slice on the bottom of the cup! This will hold your stick in place. I thought this was the best idea I had ever heard. I had always (ok-in the two times I have ever made juice pops) had a problem keeping the stick straight, so when I heard this I thought it was so smart. Well, we tried it and it doesn't work (as you can see from the picture above). It held the stick straight, but as soon as I poured in the juice the banana would float off the bottom. Darn cartoons! We made them anyways and they tasted pretty good. Next time (if there is a next time) I will have to try another way to make the stick work. Also, a word to the wise, grape juice is not a great juice for frozen pops, stick with apple or white grape!
