Last Saturday was a rainy cold day. We were feeling a little bit of cabin fever so we headed to the local aquarium. We also had a coupon which was a bonus! It was a pretty fun place. We were able so see lots of sea life. Our favorite was being able to touch sting rays. There was a sign saying use only two fingers. Hannah was so worried about just using two fingers that she didn't get to touch very many, but it was still cool. We had a fun time, I don't think we would spend the money to go there again, but it was a fun rainy day activity!

Gettin' Crafty
Lately Hannah has been all about doing "crafts" and "projects". I found this cute little ceramic purse that came with paints. It looked like something that Hannah would love to do and it was very inexpensive. The outside of the package said that the project time was one hour, which I thought unrealistic. I figured it would take maybe 20 minutes. I set Hannah up with her purse and paints and went into the other room to make the bed.Not even five minutes later she yells, "I'm done!" I thought there is no way she painted the whole thing that fast! I went out to check and sure enough the project was completed in 2 minutes flat!
But despite the false advertisement, Hannah loved it and spent at least an hour playing with it. Lesson learned---"You get what you pay for!"

Labor Day Activites
Since Chad has been so busy and worked the whole weekend, we were really looking forward to spending the whole day together on Labor Day. We started the day by driving up into the mountains to a beautiful place called Silver Lake. It was cooler up in the mountains and there was a path around the whole lake. It was my kind of hiking! We saw some beautiful scenery and animal life.
After that we headed back down the mountain and met my sister Angie and her family for lunch and a Salt Lake City Bee's game. It was SOOO hot. The seats were so hot that you had to sit on the very edge until your body absorbed the heat, then you could inch back.
After a little bit of melting in the sun we moved up into some seats that were in the shade. It was delightful until the people who had actually paid for the shady seats kicked us out. Not even my big pregnant belly made them feel bad about kicking us to the curb!
Hannah didn't mind the heat and just loved spending time with her cousins. I don't know if she even watched any of the game, but she definitely had fun!

Back to School for Daddy, Too!
Chad started his clinical education at Huntsman Cancer Institute last week also. Doesn't he look all official and smart in his lab coat?!!? He was nervous at first, but has adjusted really well. He is learning so much and is loving it. There is so much to learn in one short year, but I know he can do it all!!

Chalk it Up to the Last Days of Summer
Before Hannah started preschool we decided to take advantage of one of our last unscheduled days and play with sidewalk chalk. We only had two colors, but that didn't stop us from decorating a majority of the sidewalk!
What a pretty girl!
I love my little one! I can't believe how big she is getting! Nothing is better than spending time with mini-me! I have to keep telling myself to enjoy and soak in this time left with just the two of us. In a few short months we won't have many opportunities to like this!

Flash Back Friday
When I was making yesterday's post about Hannah's preschool I was looking for pictures and I clicked on my August '08 folder instead of '09. I found this picture that I took on Hannah's first day of preschool last year. I thought it would be fun to see the similarities and differences from the two years. Of course, we stuck with the traditional "in front of the white door" backdrop for both years. I can't believe what a little baby she was last year and how much older she looks this year! She is definitely growing up!

Preschool Here We Come....
Hannah started her first official day of preschool this week. We had originally signed her up for the preschool at the University, but that was when we were planning on living in Salt Lake. Since we live farther away I decided we would try the drive and see if we could handle it. Well...after the first week, I had had enough. To be honest I was over it the first day. The 30-45 min drive, depending on traffic, was not enjoyable at all! Then I started thinking about the roads in the winter and when the baby comes, and I decided we needed a new solution. I was really sad (let's not talk about the fact that I broke down crying while talking to her teacher....IT IS THE PREGNANCY HORMONES!! *embarrassing*) about taking her out of the preschool because it was a fun school and Hannah really liked her teacher.
I was able to find a really great preschool that is much Much closer and so she started that this week. She was very excited about it! In the car on the way over she said, "Preschool...here we come! Whoo!"
This is her doing "I Love You" in sign language, if you can't tell. She needs a little help from her other fingers!
"I love you too, my little preschooler!"
