Nightgowns

Hannah loves nightgowns.  She wears them almost every night.  She has even been known to put pj pants and shirt on and then a nightgown over top of it (Hello extra unnecessary laundry!).  Well she had a few nightgowns that were starting to be so small they were verging on nightshirts, so we decided to purchase a couple new ones.

Of course, Grace wanted in on the action too.  She has never worn a nightgown, but the fact that she didn't want to take it off to get dressed the day after we purchased it, shows that she is a big fan also!

Little Miss Clara didn't get a nightgown (makes it too easy for her to access her diaper, and that is not good for anybody!), but she wanted a picture too!

A Convinent Snow Day

Hannah has been having stomach issues lately.  She had thrown up on Monday and felt sick on Tuesday morning, so I kept her home from school.  But I should have sent her because she was perfectly fine.

She was fine again until Thursday after school when she threw up in the van!  Yuk!  I told Chad there was puke everywhere and it would probably be best if we just got a new van.  He didn't think that was a great idea.
I was debating about whether to send her to school the next day.  I didn't want to keep her home, if she was going to be fine the next day, but I really didn't want to send her to school and have her throw up.

Well that problem was solved when school was canceled for "inclement weather."
I think I have mentioned before that here in Virginia, a slight chance of snow is considered "inclement weather" and they cancel school at the drop of a hat.

Friday was one of those days.  This is what it looked like outside.  Good thing they canceled school, right?!?

She threw up again that morning, so we spent the day being lazy around the house and avoiding "the blizzard" outside!

A Day FILLED With LOVE

The girl's woke up Valentine's Day to giant bendy roses and little boxes of chocolate.

Hannah wanted to wear the rose in her hair to school, but I convinced her to do this instead.

Grace had a heart hairdo also.  She wouldn't let me put any ribbon in her's though, I was lucky she let me do this, so I didn't push it!

Hannah got all decked out for school.  This girl LOVES a holiday!  She had a heart in her hair, pink and red shirt with a heart, hearts on her socks, and pink shoes!  She told me people at school were calling her Hear Girl.

When Clara woke up she got a heart also.  It was almost as tall as her!  She loves to be like her older sisters!

That night we had our traditional "I Love..." dinner.  We choose things out of a hat and then we enjoy something that everyone loves that night.
What do you LOVE to eat for dinner?  Hannah: Pizza(surprise, surprise!) and Cheetos
What do you LOVE to drink?  Grace:  Lem-mo-made
What do you LOVE to watch?  Me: I wanted to watch The Princess Bride, but I couldn't find it, so we settled for Charlie Brown Valentine.

Chad had school ALL.DAY.LONG!  Poor guy, so he missed out on the festivities.  We let Hannah pick two since Chad was not around.
What do you LOVE for dessert?  Hannah: Strite's Doughnuts (a dangerously delicious doughnut stand here in Harrisonburg).  They even had heart shaped doughnuts!  Perfect!
It was a sweet ending to a sweet day!

Valentine's Day = Sugar Cookies!

Nothing puts me in a Valentine-y mood like sugar cookies!  It just wouldn't feel like Valentine's without making a decorating sugar cookies.

All set and ready to frost.

Yeah...this happened...A LOT!

This one was just content to snack on the chocolate chips.

The finished project and the cute creator

Now the hard part...choosing which to eat first!

Speaking From the Heart

For one of our countdown days to Valentine's Day the activity was to make a valentine for someone in the family.
Hannah made this one for me!
I thought it was super creative how she used the hearts to write a secret message!
Can you read it?

Show 'em that you care...

Last year we started a fun tradition of doing nice things for each other everyday leading up to Valentine's Day.  We make hearts and write one activity on each heart.  Every morning the girls choose a heart and we try to do that thing for someone in the family that day.  We have things like:  Do something nice, Give a hug, Give a kiss, and Play a game.

It is fun to make an effort to show each other that we care!

Cool Treats

The other night we had breakfast for dinner (a favorite).  We made homemade Orange Julius.  They were very good!  We decided to turn the leftovers into popsicle.

Cheers!

They were a yummy treat even on a cold day!

Po-ta-to, Pah-ta-to

I just found these pictures on my phone!

Back when Chad and Hannah were still on winter break, we decided to visit a place that we had heard tons of people talk about.

It is called Route 11 Potato Chips.  It is a fun little factory that produces super yummy chips.  I am not a huge chip eater, but these are GOOD!

They have a cute little factory with lots of windows so that you can see the whole process of making the chips.  It was pretty interesting!

They have free samples to try also!  Hannah wanted to take a bite out of the potato guy!

We couldn't leave without taking home a few bags.  The bag I am holding is called Mama Zuma.  They were sooo spicy and sooo addicting!

Crazy Weather

So we have had some majorly crazy weather here in Virginia.  It has gone from cold to hot to snowy to rainy and back to cold again all within a week.  One day last week we had a freezing rain.  We woke up and it looked like everything was covered in glass.  It was hard to even walk!
p.s. Please ignore my loud laugh and the resulting shaking camera!

Hannah wanted to try it out also!  The helmet was her idea.  I told her she most likely would need a helmet for her rear end!
p.s.  Please ignore the crying child in the background...I was!
Just FYI the next day the temperature reached 74 degrees and then two days after that it was 17 degrees!  Seriously Mother Nature, let's get serious here!

Just Because

The other day Chad came home with these beautiful flowers for me...just because.  It was so nice!  They look wonderful on my table and help me get through these freezing cold days!

Just Dance: Take 2

So somebody, I won't mention any names (Mom), mentioned/complained that the last video of my girl's dance moves was too short!  Well they didn't want to disappoint so they put on a whole performance including costumes!

Here is a clip of one of their dances!

Clara and I were thrilled to be in the audience and clapped throughout the show until she wanted to get down and get in on the fun!

Once There Was a Snowman

The girls made this snowman when we actually had a little snow one day.  I thought it was pretty cute and creative!  Too bad it was a frozen ice ball the next day and completely gone the next!
It was cute while it lasted!
